FAQ

The bags

What are your bags made of?

Most are genuine leather — hammered Dollaro, saffiano calf, full-grain, python-embossed, suede, and leather woven by hand. We also stock natural raffia with leather trim, and a small number of vegan and faux-leather pieces. Every product page lists the exact material and the country of manufacture, so you know what you are buying before you buy it.

Is everything genuine leather?

No, and we do not pretend otherwise. The great majority of the range is genuine leather, but a few pieces are PU or a textured leather-look material. Those are labelled plainly on the product page — look for “faux leather”, “vegan leather” or “leather-look” in the description.

Where are the bags made?

Most are made in Italy, often in small Tuscan workshops. A few come from elsewhere. The country of manufacture is stated on every product page.

Will my bag look exactly like the photos?

Close, but not identical. Leather, suede and raffia are natural materials, so colour and grain vary a little between hides and between batches. Suede in particular shifts slightly in tone from one production run to the next. We think that is part of buying something made from real material, but it is worth knowing before you order.

Can the strap be removed?

It depends on the bag. Some come with a detachable or adjustable shoulder strap, some have an integrated strap, and a few — the Birk tote, for instance — are hand-carry only with no shoulder strap at all. Each product page spells out exactly how that bag is carried.

How do I look after my bag?

Leather — wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Keep it away from prolonged damp and direct heat. A leather conditioner once or twice a year keeps it supple.

Suede — do not let it get wet, and never use water or cleaning fluid on it. Brush it with a proper suede brush to lift the nap, and store it dry and out of direct light.

Saffiano — the cross-hatch finish is the hardest-wearing of the lot. A damp cloth is fine, then dry it off.

Raffia — keep it dry. If it does get wet, let it air-dry away from radiators and hairdryers.

Faux and PU — a damp cloth, then dry it off. No solvents, and keep it out of strong sun, which hardens the coating over time.

Whatever the material, store the bag loosely stuffed with tissue or a soft cloth so it keeps its shape.

Stock

Why does it say “1 left” on almost everything?

Because it usually is. We buy in small quantities, so most styles arrive in ones and twos. When the counter says one, that is genuinely the last one — and it may be a while before we can get another.

Will you restock a bag that has sold out?

Sometimes, but we cannot promise it, and the next run may differ slightly in shade or grain. If there is something you are waiting on, write to us through the contact page and we will tell you honestly whether it is coming back.

Orders and payment

What payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus the express payment options your device offers at checkout. All payments are processed securely — we never see or store your card details.

What currency am I charged in?

All orders are charged in euro (EUR). If you are browsing from outside the eurozone, the site may show an approximate price in your local currency to help you gauge the cost, but the amount actually taken is the euro price shown beside it. Your bank applies its own exchange rate.

Why does the price look different at checkout?

Because the local-currency figure on the product page is an estimate based on the day’s exchange rate. The euro amount is the real one, and it is always shown alongside.

Shipping and returns

Where do you ship?

Worldwide. A flat €5 within Ireland, a flat €10 everywhere else.

How quickly do orders go out?

Within 1–2 business days. After that, allow 2–4 business days for Ireland, 5–8 for Europe, and 10–20 for the rest of the world. You will get a tracking link by email when your parcel is dispatched.

Will I pay customs or import duty?

Orders going outside the EU may attract import charges set by your own country. Those are payable by you on arrival and are not something we can calculate or collect in advance.

Can I return something?

Yes — within 30 days, unworn and unused with tags and original packaging. EU customers also have a 14-day cancellation right. Contact us before sending anything back. Full details are on the shipping & returns page.

Something arrived damaged. What now?

Contact us as soon as it arrives, ideally with a photo, and we will sort it out.

Still stuck?

Write to us through the contact page. A person reads it, and you will get an answer.
